Steve L.

Steve grew up enjoying several athletic and musical endeavors, from tennis to the saxophone. Steve often was found organizing various social gatherings. Combined with a great attention to detail, hands-on effort, and highly intellectual mind and you have the perfect project manager.

Steve took up the game of golf more seriously shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech in 1999 and quickly found a group of friends and coworkers in the Atlanta area to share the links. This quickly parlayed into the annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach, SC known as The Donkey Cup (formerly The Hackers Convention) beginning in 2002.

Steve is often the organizer and instigator of a large number for golf outings and competition enhancements. A founding member of the Virginia Golf Championships and RAGA tour, Steve is an integral part of the association's establishment and success.

As with many a great ideas, the Richmond Amateur Golfers Association evolved from a long history of good times and great friendships. It is our goal to enhance the game of golf through friendly competition in a relaxed, stress-free environment.

Recent Major Results

  • Masters Steve takes the green jacket and obelisk trophy for 2015 with a tight, 1 shot victory.
  • U.S. Open Jon N. captures the 2nd major of the season with a 4 shot victory over "I only show up for the majors" Jed.
  • British Steve shows his dominence at the British once again, taking the mug trophy by 7 shots.
  • Virginia Championship Jon N. secures the final major of the season but first major with the no-stroke-limit final hole.
