The RAGA tour's conception grew out of a desire to enhance the friendly competition between friends. Organizing major events, the standardizing of rules, and creation of the RVA Cup are all examples of the various levels of competition incorporated into RAGA tour events.

The RAGA tour is currently using the app Golf Game Book to track event scores. This app allows for real time scoring, side games, and stats for each round of golf played.
The RAGA tour must given credit to The Donkey Cup - an annual golf trip to Mrytle Beach, SC. The event has grown to a Ryder Cup style competition that expands the enjoyment of competition.
The Richmond Amateur Golfers Association is currently in no way affliated with any other golfing associations. It is purely a organization of friends looking to enhance friendly rounds of golf.
Since 2009, 4 major event titles have been vied for by RAGA members: Masters, U.S. Open, British, and Va. Championship. These majors are governed by rules more appropriate for the enhanced notoriety and bragging that befits a major champion. Each major is accompanied with recognition on the season-end virtual plaque and a physical trophy that can be used to taunt fellow RAGA members.
The RVA Cup is a season long competition that began in 2015 which awards points for RAGA tour sanctioned events. The points are award based on final possition, side game results, and birdies made. Top 7 points rounds by each golfer are considered the season-end results. This is still currently in the test phase.
