This tight match found a tie on top after 18, awarding split points and a share of the title for Steve and Rick. The pair were followed closely behind by Mike and Jon C., making this one of the closest rounds to-date.
This knee rattling round came down to the final hole after a volatile 17 holes. Steve set a blistering pace of a 39 on the front, road 9 with the help of a birdie on the par 3 6th. Jon C. found himself 3 shots back with the help of 4 straight pars on 5-8. Mike and Rick remained close at 43 and 44 respectfully. Steve double bogied each of the first 3 holes on the back 9 allowing the field back in. Unfortunately, Jon C. did not take advantage and failed to make anything below a bogey on the back, lake 9, slowly taking him out of contention. Mike too struggled on the back securing only 1 par on the inward 9, that coming at #12. This hole was deemed to be a pivotal turning point in the round for the chasers. Rick went 3 over for the rest of the way, pulling even with Steve by 17 after a disastrous double par at 15 and bogie at 16, both parred by Rick. Both parred the par 3 17th and a pop-up drive on 18 by Steve opened the door. A great scramble up-and-down by Steve gave him a bogey and a missed 20 footer by Rick squared the hole and round in a tie between the pair.
Mike finished a mere 3 back and Jon C. 4 back after both doubled bogied the last. The highly competitive round has the smallest shot spread between 1st and 4th place in the 2015 season.
