A better way to take advantage of an unseasonably warm late-November day than by playing a little golf. This post-Thanksgiving round will be held at the elegant Independence Golf Club. Join Steve, Mike, and Rick as we tee off at 9:20am and try to shake off the gluttony of the previous day's festivities.

Steve was on top of his game from the outset, long tee shots finding the fairways and irons dancing around the cups. Storming out in a +1 over 37, the front 9 was highlighted with 3 stress-free birdies all within a few feet of the hole. The real battle was for a distant 2nd place as Mike and Rick were tied through 9.

The tryptophan kicked in on the back 9 and Steve cooled off, if you call 5 pars coming in "cooling off". But he did have a few holes of more than a bogey and finished "only" at +10. Despite a birdie on the par 5 13th, Rick struggled on the final 9 to finish 2 back of Mike for second place. Steady Mike had his own difficulties but recovered well on the last 4 holes to secure 2nd billing.

A great way to end the 2015 season with nice weather and good company. Enjoy the holidays, wish for useful golf gifts, and work on that game in the off season as 2016 fast approaches and the chase for the RVA Cup starts anew. And with the Donkey Cup moved up to April, get started early on the 2016 rounds to prep for the team event!
