After a much needed respite post-Donkey Cup, the tour is back at it on familiar grounds. Join Rick, Steve, Jon N. and tour newcomer, Patrick, as they return home to Sycamore Creek.

The familiar surroundings brought back a return of some good golf, capped with an opening birdie by Jon N. right out of the gate. Rick’s Par-Par start kept him even with Jon N. after 2, while Steve’s bogey-bogey start kept him within a comfort zone from the lead. Patrick’s unfamiliarity with the course showed as he struggled from the start. Jon N. cozied in his 2nd birdie on the outward track, taking 4 on the Par-5 5th. But Rick remained at arms length with a par on the same hole and only found himself 2 shots back. That gap was reduced to 1 when Jon N. triple-bogeyed the 6th, which also brought Steve back within 4 shots. The tight race found things all square between Jon N. and Rick after 9, with Steve only 3 back at the turn.

The back 9 round Rick struggle on the long par-4 10th with a double-bogey as Jon N. squeaked out a bogey, taking a 1 shot lead. From there on out, Rick found the course as friendly confines - parring 6 of the final 8 holes on only bogeying the other 2, for an inward 39. Jon N. found no love on the par-5 15th to fall off pace with a triple bogey. Steve only parred the inward par-5s to finish one shot behind Jon N. Rick took his first title since the opening round of the 2017 campaign, giving him 2 for the year. His final 81 (+11) overtook Steve’s 85 (+15) on the same course as lowest round of the year so far.
