The Olympic finals pits the final four round victors in a battle for top honors as Rick takes on Todd in the gold metal match. Steve faces Mike to see who gets to take home the bronze or nothing as the season long Olympic round-robin and playoffs come to a conclustion at Sycamore Creek. Jon C. and Jon N. round out the Olympic representation and witness the exciting conclusion as these golfers play for their countries and for glory!

The Olympic golfers came to play as 4 birdies were shot over the course of 18 holes. The gold medal match started with each golfer win a hole in the first 2. Lebanon’s lead expanded to 2 after a birdie by Todd on the downhill par 4 7th. England was able to close the lead to just 1 at the turn. A similar start was seen in the bronze medal match with each golfer winning a hole in the first 2. After Germany took the 2 hole lead, Ireland birdied the difficult par 5 5th, cutting the lead to 1. But, Steve was able to expand his lead over the next 3 holes, with the help of 2 pars and finding himself up 4 after 9.

Germany’s lead remained 4 after 14 holes, when Steve rolled off another series of 3 hole wins closing out Mike 6&4 taking home the bronze for Germany. Lebanon was able to expand their lead at the turn to 3 after taking the 1st 2 holes of the inward 9. This lead remained 3 after Todd birdied 2nd hole of the day, the par 5 14th, putting Rick’s back against the wall. But England did not go down without a fight, taking 15 and 16, going par-birdie on the par 3 and difficult par 4 respectfully, closing the lead to 1. The short par 3 17th proved the decisive hole when Lebanon parred and England bogeyed, closing out the match at 2&1. Todd captured the first gold medal in RAGA tour Olympic history, leading Lebanon to glory. Rick and England settled for silver and will battle with the rest of the countries for redemption in the 2018 Winter Olympic competition.
