The 3rd major is nigh and the mug is up for grabs as the largest field to vie for a major is assembled. See Rick, Todd, Jon N., Jon C., Mike, and Steve take to the highlands of Hanover Country Club to vie for another chance at glory. Will Steve continue his quest for the coveted but very ellusive grand slam? Can Jon N. capture his first ever Open title? Will one of the newcomers snare their first ever major? Will an old foe return to spoil the festivities? Will Rick recover from his collapse in the last major? The drama will all unfold at The Hanover CC on July 23rd.

A blistering hot day set the scene for an epic, 2 group round. The 6 RAGA members and a Q-school participant toured the Hanover course with all its ups and downs. The learderboard sizzled like the weather as each competitor had a chance to snatch the iron mug! Steve took a 1 shot lead at the turn over Rick but was several holes behind in the 2nd group. Jon N. and Jon C. found themselves having to come from behind, not an easy task given the heat.

Mike played his typical consistant golf, ultimately ended in a T-3rd with Rick. The true battle came between Todd and Steve down the stretch, each looking to give up the title to the other with matching errant shots. A worm-burner tee shot on the last proved costly for Steve, even with Todd missing a short putt on the 18th green. As the comebacker fell in, Todd could finally claim his first major in 4 tries.
