Final major of the year, last chance at glory. Congratulations to Jon N. for taking the Va. Championship over Steve, Todd, and Rick. He was able to hang on despite the new rule of a no limit score on the final hole.

Jon N. stormed out to an early lead, even through 5 with one bogie and one birdie coming on the 5th hole. Compare that to his persuers, Steve at +3 through 5, Todd at +5, and Rick at +8. Jon N. continued to cruise despite a resurrence of Steve who put together a few pars in a row. But the wheels fell off on hole 8, a dreaded double par on a par 5, eventually ending the front 9 tied with Steve at +8. Rick and Todd fell well behind at the turn and never truly recovered.

The back 9 began with dualing pars but Steve began to fall off the pace after a double bogie on the Par 5 12th. Despite a few stuggles coming home, and a final hole no-double-par limit and a massive 2nd shot by Steve to the back rough, Jon N. cruised to a 2 shot victory and the Virginia Championship!
