One of the premiere courses in the area, Independence Golf Club, hosted the 2015 U.S Open of Virginia. A tightly contested game saw Jon N. take the title over Jed, Steve, and Rick - all within 10 shots.

The field stayed close through the first 5 holes, all within 3 shots of the leader, Jon N. But it was at this point the two front runners of Jon N. and Jed began to pull away as Jed birdied the par 3 7th, closing the front in 43, followed closely by Jon N. at 45. The back 9 opened with extending his lead over the field. Jon stormed to the lead by securing pars on holes 14-17 and a single bogey on 18 gave him +1 coming home to finish at +16. During the same stretch, Jed suffered a 9 over par score, fall into 2nd by 4 shots. Steve matched his 47 on the front to finish 6 shots back. Rick closed decently and finished 10 back of the U.S. Open Champ: Jon N.

With his 4th U.S. Open title, Jon N. takes the crown of most U.S. Open trophies but first major in his last 5 tries. His 88 matches Steve's Master's score, both the lowest winning score since 2012 Masters (Jon N. - 84)
